I got a tattoo!

Well kinda, it's temporary.

I love the idea of a tattoo, it's something that becomes a part of you forever. Having said that I am the type of girl that loves something one day and then will hate it the next. This is why temporary tattoo's are such a great idea.

When it comes to tattoo's I like small and quite simple designs. I purchased 'Rihanna - falling stars' temporary tattoo from ebay for only £2 including postage.

Rihanna - Falling Stars
The tattoo was easy to apply and even though the ebay description stated they last 2-3 days I found that it lasted on my wrist for a good day but once you have a shower it washes off completely.

The tattoo comes with detailed instructions written on the back.

With all the stars that come on the sheet I had the idea of using a cluster of them at a time...

...this way they will last me quite a while since I probably wear them on a special occasion.

The end result looks really nice and pretty realistic looking, I did wish they would last longer than just one day.

I don't know if I would ever get a real tattoo but until then I will most definitely continue to use temporary ones.

Would you ever get a tattoo? Maybe you already do... let me know in the comments below

MacBook Pro Accessories.....

My MacBook Pro is definitely the most expensive thing I own and I use it every single day since I bought it. I use it for everything I do from watching workout video's on Youtube to using the calculator.

So, onto the cute accessories I bought…

GMYLE Rose Red/Deep Hot Pink Hard Case - Amazon

This first thing I bought was the pink hard case, I bought it the same day my laptop arrived cause I was convinced it would get scratched. The case is a really lovely bright pink, it 'snaps' on quickly and fits perfectly and the apple logo shines through when on.

I bought the case from Amazon for £10.98 + £1 P&P. I did spill a little black dye which doesn't seam to budge… well at least it wasn't on the actual laptop, phew.

A couple of months later I came across 'laptop decals' and spent hours looking through all of the different designs on Amazon and Ebay, but ended up with a very cute Hello Kitty Design. This design was purchased from Ebay for £4.50 + £2.58 P&P, it was easy to stick on and has lasted really well.

Hello Kitty Laptop Decal - EBAY

Finally, a couple of weeks ago while I was eating at my laptop, I thought to myself how dirty my keyboard must be and the fact that I never clean my laptop never mind the keyboard. I have to get a keyboard cover… straight to Amazon and Ebay I went… as you might have guessed I was looking to get a pink cover to match the case but was afraid it wouldn't 'match' exactly so I kept searching and found a rainbow keyboard cover. 'Perfect' I thought to myself.

Kuzy Rainbow Keyboard Silicone Cover - Amazon

Since it was shipped from America it took about 3 weeks to arrive, once arrived I placed it over my 'cleaned keyboard' and looks amazing.

Typing is something I got used to within a day or two. It's made from a silicon rubbery material which makes the keys feel quite nice to touch. After only having it for a couple of weeks, I can see the amount of dust that ends up on and around the keys and glad that now its not getting inside under the keys but just sitting on the cover ready for me to clean it… well if I ever get around to it.

This keyboard cover was purchased from Amazon for £1 + £3.95 P&P.

Makeover Time...

Today I had an idea that I would give my blog a bit of a makeover...hence the title of this post. Thinking this would be a quick job starting around midday while currently looking at the time at 9:04pm it was definitely a long job and also really hard.

This is what my blog used to look like

I thought it looked quite harsh, cold, not very girly and a bit dull.

Over 9 hours later it looks like this...

I am really pleased with the end result, I still can't believe it took me sooooo long, but I got there in the end.

Starting with the header I kept the same image but changed the colours to what I think is not as harsh as before.

Adding the pink border with rounded corners took a bit a google-ing, as I was messing around with the HTML coding... something that I haven't done since I was at uni.

The longest and hardest part was creating the background image. I really love the 'bokeh' effect and totally been obsessed with it, I think it looks magical, girly and just really nice. I didn't want to copy and paste it in, I wanted to make it myself.

Using GIMP (it's like Photoshop but it's free) I followed this tutorial to create my background.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, and hope you all like the new look.

DIY Icing On The Nails...

For this DIY, my inspiration came from the cover of the latest ASDA Magazine, don't they look yummy.

~~~
This is how they looked like once I finished
~~~

Things you need:
- Base Coat (OPI Natural Nail Base Coat)
- Base Colour (Revlon 185 Sweet Tart)
- Nude Polish (Rimmel 60 Seconds 500 Caramel Cupcake)
- White Polish (OPI Alpine Snow)
- Red Polish (Barry M 262)
- Top Coat (Couldn't find mine so used the base coat)
- Fine Brush

~~~
 First apply a base coat and a base colour...
~~~

...next draw a heart on each nail...

~~~
...on my small finger I wanted the look of dusted icing sugar, I did this using the brush and stippling on the while polish...
~~~

...the next nail I did a red outline inside the heart...

~~~
...on the middle nail I drew red lines diagonally across the heart...
~~~

...then I painted the inside of the heart leaving an inner border...

~~~
...on the thumb I used white and pink polish to create the look of piped icing...
~~~

...finish the look with a top coat.

Have a great Valentine's Day everyone.
