DIY Strawberry Fruit Bouquet

Fruit bouquet's look absolutely amazing and to be honest better than flowers because you get to eat it...

They are a great gift to give and even better to get... but can be very expensive £35+

So for Mother's Day, which was yesterday, I thought they can't be very hard to make yourself  and put together a mini fruit bouquet for my mum which she absolutely loved...

This is the end result... it took about 1-2 hours and cost around £10...

~~~~~
You will need
- A mug - Wilkinson £1.50 (any base to hold the display)
- Dri-Foam - Wilkinson £1.45
- Wooden Skewers - Clas Ohlson £1.99 (tried Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer's but not in season)
- Strawberries - Tesco £4.00 (any fruit of your choice)
- Milk Chocolate - Waitrose £1.62
- White Chocolate - Waitrose £1.62
- Cling film (not pictured)
Total Cost: £12.18 with plenty left over
~~~~~

Trim the dri-foam until it fits inside the mug, this make a bit of a mess so after trimming I covered it with some cling film...

...wash the strawberries, remove the green leaves and put them onto the skewers...

...starting with the white chocolate melt it over some simmering water...

...drizzle half the strawberries with the white chocolate one at a time and place them in the mug...

...melt the milk chocolate and drizzle over the remaining strawberries...

...finally and carefully arrange the strawberries until you are happy with how it looks.

  8. Wowie, they look so professional and I can imagine they we're fun to do, although I don't know how much chocolate would end up on the strawberries.. I would be guilty of licking the bowl haha. Great gift idea.
