Red Hair Update… Directions Pillarbox Red

After dyeing my sisters hair less than a week ago she wasn't happy with the colour and that it wasn't 'red' enough. Read the post here

Instead of using another permanent hair dye on top of her current hair dye, I decided to use a semi permanent hair colour from Directions in the colour Pillarbox Red.

As you can see from the picture it is super bright and very red.

Even once I mixed it with conditioner, the colour remained the same intensity. I used an equal amount of the hair dye with an equal amount of white conditioner.

She applied the whole amount to her hair and left it on for 2 hours.

Garnier Olia Intense Red - Review + Before & After

Around 2 years ago my sister dyed her hair using Garnier Olia in the colour Deep Red. You can read my review with before and after pictures here.

This time around she chose the colour Intense Red 6.60.

I would suggest to buy more boxes than you need as it's alway better to have too much than running out half way through.

My sister has very thick, corse hair which requires 3 boxes of hair dye.

The application is pretty straight forward, you mix the developer with the colourant and then evenly spread through all the hair. I do want to mention that it doesn't spread very well as the mixture is quite thick. Apart from that it is great it even smells good and doesn't have that awful toxic chemical smell.

She left the dye in for 30 minutes, rinsed out her hair and then used the conditioner.

Drinking Shots… of Wheatgrass Juice

I have been taking wheatgrass shots for the past couple of months and would like to share the benefits I have noticed as well as how much and how I drink it.

I would love to be able to juice the wheatgrass itself and drink that daily but after looking into it, it honestly seemed to take too much time.

I opted to buy the wheatgrass in powder form as it was cost effective and quick and easy to make and drink.

I mix the juice in a shot glass, with 1 teaspoon of the wheatgrass powder topped with any juice like apple juice. The sweeter the juice the better the shot will taste. You can mix it with water but it does taste a lot worse.

I drink this shot first thing in the morning before I workout and before I have breakfast it gives me a boost of energy similar to how many people would drink coffee.

When you first mix and drink this shot it is not nice. It smells really bad kinda like mouldy seaweed on the beach mixed with sushi, it is really bad. At first it was so bad I didn't think it would be worth drinking but your tastebuds are a great thing as they do get used to the taste. It tastes kinda fishy, salty and seaweed-y. It is really bad but if you mix it with apple juice you get an aftertaste of sweetness from the apples.

The first month I would drink this shot once a day like I mentioned above first thing in the morning.

Immediately I noticed that I had more energy, after days went on I noticed how quickly my nails and hair was growing, and how really strong my nails were. The first 3 weeks of drinking this once a day made a hair grew as much as it would take to grow in 3 months.

After the first month I started increasing my workouts so even though I was taking the shot in the morning the results faded by the afternoon this is when I decide to take 2 shots daily which is now what I do every day.

Have you tried wheatgrass juice? Let me know in the comments below.
